Adding an e-mail account to your device(s)

Find the below section for either Mobile/tablet or laptop/desktop.

Laptop/Desktop

Microsoft Outlook

(Desktop program only – not outlook.com)

Mail for Mac

(Desktop program for mac laptops/desktops)

Once you have opened Mac Mail, click on Mail > Add Account
Next select the option for Other Mail Account, and click Continue.
Enter a Display Name, your Email Address and your Email Password, and click Sign in.
You will now need to choose IMAP under account Type, and enter the incoming and outgoing mail server as mail.yourdomainname.co.uk.
You can now click Done to complete the setup.

Troubleshooting

If you receive error “The username or password is incorrect” or similar, please check your username and password. (The username will always be your e-mail address)

If you receive the error “Server is not responding” or similar, please check double check the server details added and any given port numbers.

Adding your e-mail account to your apple iPhone/iPad from a cpanel e-mail

The below only applies if you have an iOS device (iPhone/iPad) and you have been told to use the below instructions.

Using the built in iOS mail application

1. Open Mail and locate the Email from cPanel
2. Click on the File with the name of “email-(your email will be displayed here*).mobileconfig
This is how the file name would look: email-example@gmail.com.mobileconfig
3. You would then be greeted with a “Profile downloaded” pop up message
4. Go to Settings>General>Profiles
5. Under “Downloaded Profile”, Press on the section that displays your email
6. On the top right of the screen of your device, you are able to install the profile
7. Add your passcode to authenticate the profile download, and click install.
8. Enter your password.
9. Exit settings and open the Mail Application.
10. Under mailboxes you should see a new inbox with the email you used to login with cPAnel

Using outlook mobile app

1. Open Mail and locate the Email from cPanel
2. Click on the File with the name of “email-(your email will be displayed here*).mobileconfig

3. You would then be greeted with a “Profile downloaded” pop up message
4. Go to Settings>General>Profiles
5. Under “Downloaded Profile”, Press on the section that displays your email
6. On the top right of the screen of your device, you are able to install the profile
7. Add your passcode to authenticate the profile download, and click install.
8. Enter your password.
9. Exit settings and open outlook.
10. Enter your email and press add account
11. Enter your password, and Display name (Optional)
12. Press Sign-in and you should be logged in to your email 👍
